Nation’s Leading Healthcare Experts Address Changes in Workflow at ECRI Institute’s Annual Conference

ECRI Institute’s 24th Annual Conference, Workflow, Workarounds, and Overworked Health Systems: Innovations and Challenges for Quality, Safety, and Technology, a free public service conference, is being held November 28-29, 2017, at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

This conference strengthens the emerging national dialog on practice efficiency and institutional culture and their effects on care.

More than 30 top healthcare leaders from public and private sectors will speak in the nine plenary sessions, including a hospital CEO panel and insightful sessions on strategies to transform to high performing networks.

Some of the key questions and issues being addressed include:

  • The Purpose and Effectiveness of Quality Monitoring and Measurement-setting Organizations and their Influence on Standardization, Workflow, and Innovation

“This conference explores a range of issues and the evidence on whether and how they are being addressed,” says Jeffrey C. Lerner, PhD, ECRI Institute’s president and chief executive officer. “While no single conference can solve complex issues with simple answers, this day and a half exploration of multifaceted issues gives people the opportunity to be better informed through guided, evidence-informed, discussion with healthcare leaders.”

Designed for a multi-staker audience, the conference is appropriate for hospital and health system executives, public and private payers, electronic health record executives, quality officers, researchers, and policy makers.

This national conference is co-planned and co-sponsored with thought leaders from AcademyHealth, Bipartisan Policy Center, Department of Veterans Affairs, Georgetown University, Kaiser Permanente, Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania, Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
